'Alt Meats' Are Not the Answer for Poorer Countries

In many developing countries, livestock is not considered a consumer product, but a vital source of income, food and livelihood. Therefore, this recent excitement about alternative meat and dairy products is not a global solution.

Instead of trying to replace all of the world’s meat, milk and eggs with alternatives, we should be improving the husbandry systems for those who depend on them the most.
